IN THE SHOP: A Rare Waterproof Patek Calatrava In Rose Gold A Killer 1960s GMT-Master And A First Series Heuer Carrera With Date

This week we've come out swinging with a handful of downright incredible additions to the HODINKEE Shop. We always do our best to find the cleanest, most honest examples of collectible and rare watches, and this week we've found you some KILLERS. Let's get into it.

1960s Pepsi Bezel Rolex GMT-Master

Who doesn't love a great Pepsi-bezel GMT? We've outdone ourselves here with a super clean late '60s example with beautiful thick case and warm, rich patina. What's more is that this watch has an early and uncommon Mexican-made Rolex rivet bracelet, and a remarkably clean look. You can find it here.

Rolex Date Reference 1530

According to many, the reference 1530 is one of the least common watches ever produced by Rolex, with a production generally believed to be in the 1,500 range (which for Rolex is miniscule). What makes the 1530 so fascinating is that it very much resembles the integrated cases designed by Gerald Genta (who also designed these killer eyeglasses – we have one pair left) made famous by the Royal Oak and Nautilus. Further, this Genta-style case was predominantly found in Oysterquartz watches, and few realized they housed a self-winding movement until just a few years back. The 1530 is a true connoisseur's choice, and finding them in great condition with sharp angles is proving to be next to impossible – so we did the work for you. Find this rare reference 1530 Rolex right here.

Patek Philippe Reference 2508 Waterproof Calatrava In Rose Gold

Ah, the 2508, how we love thee. While the world is obsessed with 570s and 565s, we look for something stronger, more robust, and indeed more rare for our Patek Calatravas. The 2508 (and its brother the 2509 – same but with sub seconds) is in fact Patek's sportiest, most beautiful time-only watch. Why? Because it is their only waterproof Calatrava! Yes, the 2508 shares the very same case as the legendary 1463 chronograph, right down to its double-layered screw back. Further, the 2508, like the 1463, is most commonly found in yellow gold, then stainless steel, and finally in rose gold – the most rare and sought after. This example in rose is a beautiful, honest, but robust example of Patek's finest time-only reference, and one that many may not know, but they should. Find our example here.

But Wait, There's More

If you're looking for something else but didn't see it above, fear not, we have more new watches going into the shop today, and we know you'll love 'em. You can check out the full range of HODINKEE Shop certified and guaranteed watches right here, and as always, we offer no hassle returns if you don't like anything you buy from us.
