We are now a full two months into watch sales on the HODINKEE Shop, and we could not be more proud of all that has happened. Over 80 watches have found new homes, including some really special pieces. This week, we have a wonderful array of the rare and esoteric, and the blue chips. Let's get into it.
1940s Stainless Steel Vacheron Constantin With Screw-Back Case
Something we really pride ourselves on is educating our consumers – and offering up things off the beaten path that we believe in long-term. Take this 1940s time-only watch from Vacheron Constantin – is features a killer waterproof case, lovely pink-gold numerals and hands, and a Türler-signed dial (where it was retailed way back in 1946). Oh, and did we mention it's stainless steel? It is. Look at the quality of this case, and that stunning in-house caliber, then look at the price. Oh, and steel Vacherons like this make steel Pateks look downright normal by comparison. Yeah, you get it. One more thing? It comes with a full extract from Vacheron directly. Find it here.
Rolex GMT-Master Reference 1675 Pepsi Bezel
Sure, 1675's aren't exactly rare, but examples with dials and hands this beautiful are. The lume on this watch has turned a rich caramel color, and the bezel insert shows years of fading. On its original jubilee bracelet, this GMT is as charming as they come. Find it here.
1950s Universal Genève Polerouter
Ah, the Polerouter. How we love thee! This 1950s Gerald Genta designed classic remains a HODINKEE favorite for the obvious reasons – the elegant aesthetics, classic micro-rotor movement, and this particular example features lovely patina and the desirable cross-hair dial. Find it here.
Some Other New Additions
Also included in this week's launch are a military-issued Hamilton, a beautiful Movado Kingmatic, two-register chronographs from Breitling and Heuer, and a few killer Oysters from Rolex. As always, find the full selection of HODINKEE Shop-vetted watches right here.
