Introducing: The A. Lange & Söhne Saxonia Moon Phase

A. Lange & Söhne has released a new addition to the classic Saxonia line – the Saxonia Moon Phase. This watch perfectly combines three of Lange’s strengths – the outsized date, moon-phases precision, and clean dial layout. This a wonderful new entry-level-for-Lange addition.

The new Saxonia Moon Phase features the L086.5 automatic movement which is a similar movement (with added moon phase complication) to the L086.1 used in the Saxonia Automatic. The watch comes in both white gold and pink-gold 40 mm case, which is larger than the standard Saxonia model (which range from 37 to 39 mm). The silvered dial features the outsized twin aperture date, which has been in use since 1994 and is a brand staple. The moon-phase is so precise that you won’t need to change it for 122.6 years and it is 99.998% accurate.

Overall, this is a gorgeous watch that reminds me of modern 3448 – my favorite vintage watch. It will surely be a huge hit with Lange enthusiasts, and will be priced at $290,000 both in pink and white gold.

Pricing and more pictures to come. For more information feel free to visit the A. Lange & Söhne website.
