Introducing: The IWC Mark XVIII (40mm, Anti-Magnetic, And Just Right)

You asked for it, you got it. Here is the IWC Pilots watch you've been waiting for – if you thought these were too big and this was too small. This is the brand new IWC Mark XVIII – the heir apparent to THE most important and iconic pilots line in the world. And, it's been dropped down in size to 40mm, the dial's been cleaned up, and it's been given a brand new pair of (way more fitting) shoes. This one you're gonna like.

IWC Mark XVIII

Up until today, the Mark Pilots Watch – the XVII – was 41mm in diameter, featured an altimeter style date display, and came on an exotic strap. You could say that those three things have been remedied in the new Mark XVIII. The case size is now 40mm, four larger than the Pilots Watch 36 and four smaller than the new Big Pilot. We now have a single date display, and on the black dial model, with a window also in black. Finally, the Mark XVIII now comes on a stunning Santoni calf strap with vintage style stitching that really fits the mood of this watch.

The Mark XVIII also comes with a white dial A beaded bracelet is available for the Mark XVIII

Inside the 40mm MKXVIII is a Selitta caliber that has become the defacto choice for time-only watches in this price range. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it, and this pilots watch has the added bonus of being anti-magnetic thanks to a soft-iron case. It is also water resistant to six bars. The standard Mark XVIII (References IW327001 ∙ IW327002 ∙ IW327011) will sell for $3950, the same prices as the 36mm Pilots Watch. Also, IWC will now offer strap NATO-style straps built just for the Mark XVIII.

With this watch, you can say IWC has returned to the pure, function-driven pilots watches of years past. The look, style, and price is just right. Here for more.
