We're absolutely delighted to be able to share with you all that we've found a winner for our Bring Me To Baselworld contest, which is being generously sponsored by Carl F. Bucherer. The winner, selected from among literally thousands of entries shared with us by HODINKEE readers (and, of course, watch lovers) is Mr. Nathaniel Coghlan. Nathaniel tells us:
"My name is Nathaniel Coghlan and for as long as I can remember, I've been a collector. It went from comic books to action figures, to guitars, to bikes, and now watches. Embarrassingly, I think pogs belong somewhere in that list too. I currently work as the Director of Outreach for the Purdue Honors College. As someone who dropped out of college to pursue music full time, I like to believe I bring a unique perspective to the world of higher education. I did finish a couple of degrees before returning to work in higher education, and I'm fortunate to work in a field for which I have great passion. I grew up in New Hampshire, where my family still resides, but have made a home in West Lafayette, Indiana, after leaving my second home of Phoenix, Arizona. You will rarely catch me without a watch on my wrist, and I apologize in advance if you ask me about it and were not hoping for a soliloquy on the subject."
"I am excited to attend Basel this year not only to hopefully see my father and give him a break from meetings in Holland and I am also very excited to be visiting Switzerland. I have not had the opportunity to travel outside the country for nearing on a decade and I recently renewed my passport with no trip planned, but as I reminder to myself that it was time to do some traveling that didn't involve me filing a claim with my travel department upon my return."
"In particular, I'm looking forward to seeing, and hopefully wearing, some of the selections from the Carl F. Bucherer collection – in particular the Manero Tourbillion Limited Edition, because how could you not want to wind the CFB T1001 caliber and watch that gorgeous tourbillion.
