Introducing: The New Rolex Datejust 41mm

Rolex has released a slew of new watches at this year's Baselworld. You may have already seen (and drooled over) the new Rolex Daytona with black ceramic bezel or the new Rolex Explorer, but one we haven't talked about yet is the new 41 mm Datejust.

Rolex Datejust 41mm

The Datejust, first produced in 1946, is the bread and butter for Rolex. It is one of their most iconic and popular models and the vintage versions are incredibly collectible. Another little known fact is that the ladies' Datejust is the highest selling Rolex model EVER (for real). So it is no surprise that Rolex keeps reinventing the wheel with the Datejust because, it's just a really good watch.

Which brings me to the 41 mm. This "new" model features the same aesthetic and design as it's predecessors (the Datejust 36 mm and the Datejust II which is 41 mm), with a sunburst dial and glistening fluted bezel. The watch features the standard date at 3 o'clock that has moved ever so slightly and is now closer to the fluted bezel. But the most important thing to note about this watch is the new Rolex caliber 3235 which is automatic with a power reserve of 70 hours. This new in-house movement features 14 patented parts and features a Parachrom hairspring that is 10 times more precise than a regular hairspring.

The new Datejust 41 mm is available in "Rolesor gold," which is a combination of 904L steel and 18k yellow gold and stainless steel with Jubilee bracelet. Or there is the "Everose Rolesor gold" and stainless steel set with diamond indexes with an Oyster bracelet (champagne or black dial). Both are COSC certified and are registered Superlative Chronometers.

The retail of this piece is CHF 12,000 for the yellow gold and steel; CHF 13,600 for the Everose and steel with champagne dial and diamond indexes; and CHF 13,300 for the Everose and steel with black dial and diamond indexes.
